Bradford signs, practices same day

Sam Bradford took his first steps on the field as a St. Louis Ram on Saturday. Just an hour after signing his contract, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2010 NFL Draft put on the pads for his first official practice with the team.

Bradford signed a six-year, $78 million contract, with $50 million guaranteed. The guaranteed money is the most in NFL history, and could be the last huge contract signed by a draft pick. With the Collective Bargaining Agreement sure to change after this season (and possibly a lockout), it is highly likely that rookies will no longer receive such lucrative contracts. ( Read More…)
