Rams trade Barron for Carpenter
The St. Louis Rams have traded offensive tackle Alex Barron to the Dallas Cowboys for linebacker Bobby Carpenter.
This is a great example of two teams trading busted draft picks hoping that a change of scenery will benefit both.
Barron was a huge disappointment in St. Louis and is part of the cleaning of the house by the new coaching staff.
The trade of Barron will allow Jason Smith, last year’s first-round pick, to move from right to left tackle.
Meanwhile, the Rams are hopeful that their 4-3 defense will be more beneficial for Carpenter than the Cowboys’ 3-4.
