Rams dismiss McNabb rumors

St. Louis Rams head coach Steve Spagnuolo is dimissing rumors that Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb could be heading to the Gateway to the West.

The head coach said that rumors are going to be coming from every direction this time of the year but there is usually nothing to them.

The Rams are desperate for help at the quarterback position with Marc Bulger struggling to stay healthy.

Backup Kyle Boller has proven that a chance of scenery hasn’t made a difference in his playing career, and the team has no other promising, young signal callers.

The Eagles are looking to trade one of their quarterbacks, and McNabb appears the most likely to be dealt.

Rams sign Robbins

The St. Louis Rams have signed veteran defensive tackle Fred Robbins to a three-year contract.

Financial terms have not been released.

Robbins was a big part of the New York Giants 2007 Super Bowl run and will be reunited with head coach Steve Spagnuolo.

The decision to sign Robbins also begs the question whether the Rams have decided not to select one of the two stud defensive tackles with the No. 1 pick in the NFL Draft.

The 33-year old has struggled the past couple of seasons while fighting through injuries, but maybe he just needs a change of scenery.
