Jackson accused of assault

St. Louis Rams running back Steven Jackson has been accused of hitting a woman who is nine months pregnant with his kid.

His girlfriend claims that Jackson pushed her to the ground several times and bloodied her lip back in March of 2009.

She also alleges that a newphew got involved to break it up and Jackson encouraged her to say the injuries were suffered in a shower accident.

The police are not in touch with Jackson and an investigation is not yet underway because the police report was filed hundreds of miles away from the alleged attack.

The running back said the allegations were untrue and hurtful. The Rams say they are aware of the situation.

Rams fall to 49ers, 28-6

The St. Louis Rams put up a fight early on but eventually gave in during a 28-6 loss to the San Francisco 49ers.

The Rams had the only score of the first half, which came courtesy of the leg of kicker Josh Brown.

His booming 54-yard field goal gave the Rams a 3-0 lead at the half and a fighting chance in the final two quarters.

St. Louis’ defense really cracked in the second half against a San Francisco team that has to work hard to score points.

They gave up 107 yards and two touchdowns to running back Frank Gore and 89 yards and a touchdown to tight end Vernon Davis.

Rams fall to Cardinals, 31-10

The St. Louis Rams simply didn’t have enough firepower in a 31-10 loss to the Arizona Cardinals.

The Rams defense had no answer for quarterback Kurt Warner and his two star wide receivers. Anquan Boldin and Larry Fitzgerald each found the end zone and racked up nearly 200 yards.

They were able to hold the Cardinals scoreless in the first quarter, but found themselves trailing 17-0 at the half. At that point, the game was essentially already over.

The bottom line is that you can’t expect to win too many NFL games with Ken Null as your starting quarterback. He would be a third-stringer on most NFL teams.

All hope is not lost for St. Louis fans. They can continue to cheer their team on to a season-ending defeat as they try to wrap up the No. 1 overall pick in next year’s NFL Draft.
