Rams fall to Packers, 35-19

The St. Louis Rams fell behind 16-0 and could never close the gap in a 35-19 loss to the Green Bay Packers.

Quarterback Marc Bulger was injured during the game, which meant Kyle Boller was pressed into duty.

Boller played surprisingly well and could even get the start next week after throwing two touchdown passes.

He kept the Rams in the game and avoided a blowout, which is more than can be said of Bulger these days.

The Rams travel to San Francisco to take on the 49ers in Week 4.

Rams fall to Redskins, 9-7

The St. Louis Rams put up a good fight but just could never find a way to get over the hump in a 9-7 loss to the Washington Redskins.

After a disgraceful performance in Seattle in the season opener, the Rams fared much better in their second road test.

The defense gave up a lot of yards, but did a nice job of creating turnovers at the right time and holding the Redskins to field goals.

The bend but don’t break defense could be something that the Rams can build off of for future games.

On the offensive side of the ball, there isn’t much to get excited about. Quarterback Marc Bulger looks terrible and has very few receiving options.

Rams shut out by Seahawks, 28-0

It was an embarassing start to the season for the St. Louis Rams, who fell to the Seattle Seahawks, 28-0.

The Rams knew it could be a rough season, but I don’t think new head coach Steve Spagnuolo expected this kind of start.

The offense really didn’t do anything all day, as both the passing and running game failed to materialize.

Defensively, two interceptions saved the Rams from what could have been a much uglier final score.

It will be a long season unless the Rams can get their running game going and control the clock.

Rookie Smith may not start

The St. Louis Rams remain undecided on whether or not to start rookie Jason Smith at right tackle.

The No. 2 overall pick was expected to be a major part of the reconstruction of the team’s fledgling offensive line.

Head coach Steve Spagnuolo said the team has been moving him around in practice, putting him at different spots and with different teams.

Smith said that he isn’t really fazed by anything the team throws at him and that he is just ready to get out on the field and help the Rams win games.

Bulger likely to start season opener

St. Louis Rams veteran quarterback Marc Bulger appears to be on track to start the season opener as he recovers from a broken right pinkie.

He threw 21 passes on the side for the first time since his injury and everything felt pretty good.

The team is hopeful that he might be able to play in the preseason finale Thursday, but they aren’t going to rush him back for a meaningless game.

The Rams are confident that Bulger is their starter despite the fact that backup Kyle Boller played very well in the most recent preseason game.

Boller should stay ready, though, as Bulger has become rather injury prone the past few seasons.
