In need of some weapons at wide receiver, the St. Louis Rams have acquired Ronald Curry from the Detroit Lions.
The team sent defensive tackle Orien Harris to the Lions in exchange for the former UNC standout.
Curry has always been touted as having a lot of potential but has never quite been able to put it all together.
He was a quarterback and point guard with the Tar Heels but made the switch to wideout in the NFL.

St. Louis Rams tight end Randy McMichael has always had plenty of talent, but making use of it has been another question.
He is best known for his days with the Miami Dolphins, the team that drafted him out of college.
McMichael was a focal point of the Miami offense until one day becoming a cap casualty, and his career hasn’t been the same ever since.
Now in the final few years of the prime of his career, McMichael is hoping to turn things around and become a key part in a rejuvenated Rams offense.

The St. Louis Rams have signed safety Oshiomogho Atogwe to a one-year contract. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Atogwe lead the NFL with eight interceptions back in 2007. The team is hopeful for more of the same in 2009.
He started all 16 games for the Rams last season, finishing third on the team with more than 100 tackles.
He also led the team with five interceptions, eight forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries.

The St. Louis Rams aren’t likely to go anywhere this year even in the weak NFC West, but respectability would be a nice goal.
To achieve that, and some progress in their rebuilding project, the team will need a strong running game to control the clock and keep their defense rested.
That’s where star running back Steven Jackson comes into play, or at least so the Rams hope.
Jackson is a beast with a great combination of power and speed. He could be the guy the team leans on, only he has a tough time staying on the field. Keeping Jackson healthy will go a long way toward helping the Rams get into the win column.

The St. Louis Rams brought in a new head coach and general manager in the offseason, both of whom believed an overhaul of players was needed as well.
The team looked to release veterans that were overpaid or over the hill to accelerate the rebuilding project.
Veteran wideouts Torry Holt and Drew Bennett were among the casualties. The loss of Holt hit fans particularly hard, as he was the last real contributor to the ‘Greatest Show on Turf.’
Because of the losses at wide receiver, it remains the team’s biggest need and something they know they won’t fill in just one season.
