Rams could be up for sale

The St. Louis Rams could be up for sale very soon.

Co-owners Chip Rosenbloom and Lucia Rodriguez inherited the team from long-time owner Georgia Frontiere, who passed away a couple of years ago.

The two have retained the services of Goldman Sachs, an investment firm based out of New York, which is going to help put the team up for sale.

Forbes Magazine currently values the franchise at about $929 million, which is one of the least valued franchises in the NFL. T

here has been some concern that a sale could result in relocation of the team. The owners would like to sell to Rams’ fans, but interest from those in the St. Louis area has been minimal.

Carter hopes to make noise with Rams

The St. Louis Rams are giving wide receiver Tim Carter a serious look as they look to replenish their wide receiver corps after losing veteran star Torry Holt in the offseason.

Carter is the kind of player you root for, as he has shown himself not only to be a quality player but a quality person during his time in the league.

The wide receiver was out of football last year, but it wasn’t necessarily because of disinterest from other teams. Carter was busy getting his treatment center for at-risk youth up and running in Houston.

Carter said it was a lot of work to get the center up and running and took up a lot of his time, but says he gets the chance to work regularly with 24 fantastic teenagers.

He also opened up two Popeye’s restaurants, showing he is quite the businessman on the side.

Bell hires personal chef

Louis Rams offensive lineman Jacob Bell has hired a personal chef to help him get into the 300-club, as he has struggled to put on weight.

It’s a problem that most men would like to have, but not Bell. It’s not exactly an exclusive club he is trying to get into, as 20 other players on the team weight 300 pounds or more.

The team has made it clear that they want Bell to bulk up in the offseason, and he decided that hiring a chef would probably be the best way to go about adding the weight.

Bell was part of a struggling offensive line that yet again did a terrible job in protecting its quarterback, no matter who was back there. The Rams desperately want to improve that part of their football team heading into 2009.

Rams cut Tinoisomoa

The St. Louis Rams have cut linebacker Pisa Tinoisomoa, who was the team’s leading tackler last season.

It’s a surprising move from a team that really struggles to stop anyone on the defensive side of the ball.

Head coach Steve Spagnuolo said that it was a very difficult decision to make but was based on several factors, which makes you think that something else might have been going on behind the scenes.

You might wonder if he was a problem in the locker room or had some type of issue with the coaching staff. It’s also possible that the team just wanted to go in a different direction and get younger as they start to rebuild from the ground up.

He was a six-year veteran with the Rams and was drafted in the second round back in 2002.

Rams help offensive line

The St. Louis Rams didn’t make the sexiest pick, but it could certainly be the one that helps them out the most.

Tackle Jason Smith out of Baylor could be the heir apparent to Orlando Pace, who spent more than a decade in St. Louis.

The Rams believe their biggest problem is their inability to run the ball and to protect their quarterback.

They see Smith as a guy who can take care of both of those problems and be a cornerstone of the franchise for years to come.

He also has a very small chance of being a bust, which is always comforting to know.
